8th Wado-UK Presentation Evening 2015

The 11th December was the 8th occasion we attended the Hull University for our annual presentation evening. Once again we allmade our way into the Asylum venue where we seem to have made the venue or new home for this event.

There were approximately 230 people in attendance on the night, all there to help celebrate the achievements of our membership. Achievements which were recognised by way of our usual club awards for Best Newcomer, Service, Achievement, Kata and Kumite, along with the Association awards for the Emily Pierce memorial Shield, Service and High Level Achievement.

Last year's magicaian element did not reappear for this year. The cost was simply too restrictive. However we did have another little addition, Play Your Cards Right! Some of our younger members helped get everyone in the mood with a little light hearted fun. Winners received action figures if they were boys, and smelly bubble bath for the girls.

Our association award winners can be seen below being presented their awards by the President of Wado UK Mr. John Moreton 8th Dan and Paul Braid from the Shinken Dojo.

The first association award is the Emily Pierce Memorial Shield. For 2015 the winner was William Miles

The next association award was the Association Service Award.

This award is designed to reward someone who has been instrumental in the development of Wado UK through their help and assistance at such things as events. Ian Hartery was this year's winner, following his assistance at competitions, but also for securing us a secure site for our lock up container.
